How many times as practitioners have we heard "I didn't have time to come back", "I couldn't get off work" or "I couldn't afford an appointment"? Healthstat eliminates those common barriers.  Employees who perhaps would never seek out healthcare providers are now able to have excellent care provided to them in an easily accessible environment.  Having on-site nurse practitioners in the workplace is a wonderful concept.
 
I find a very positive response from supervisors and employees.  I am most surprised at the number of employees with significant health issues who weren't getting care at all - they seem pleased to have the on-site clinic as an option.
 
By providing the Healthstat on-site clinics, we have not experienced the significant increase in healthcare expenses that we would have otherwise. We have also seen a significant impact on lost work time and our associates' overall health has improved considerably.
 
I have three patients who had significant hypertension and several patients with hyperlipidemia - all are now well controlled and improved.  I also administered 95 flu vaccines which is about 50% of the employee population.
 
Since the opening of our Healthstat on-site clinics, lost work time has reduced significantly and the overall health of our employees has greatly improved.
 
I diagnosed a gentleman with a deep vein thrombosis; he is receiving treatment and doing well.  I also saw a young man with atrial fibrillation.  He went from the clinic to the hospital. He was at great risk to have another stroke.  I do not believe that either of these employees would have sought prompt medical attention for their symptoms if the clinic was not here.  Since both of these problems have the potential to be life-threatening, potentially disabling and can result in very costly complications, the advantage to early diagnosis and intervention is significant.
